  • Selected the Great America Rifle Rookie of the Year, second West Point Black Knight in four years to earn that honor
  • First team all-conference selection in air rifle
  • Captured the air rifle title at the GARC Championships, becoming the second Black Knight to earn that title, but first freshman
  • Finished second in the aggregate scoring with an 1170 helping lead Army to first GARC Championship title
  • Has scored 590 or above in last six matches (including Olympic Trials) and nine times overall this season
  • Captured medalist honors seven times thus far
  • Top scorer in air rifle score (590) in first collegiate meet
 
Personal

Stephen started shooting when he was 11 years old. He is currently a freshman at the United States Military Academy at West Point. He was ranked among top recruits in the country last year after enjoying great success as a junior competitor. He boasts an impressive resume that includes international and national experience and is a respected shooter whose reputation at the junior level earned him votes on the preseason GARC Watch List released in August.

 
Did You Know?

Stephen has a younger sister Sarah (17) who is also a shooter and shoots 10m Air Rifle. Sarah finished as runner up at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. Stephen enjoys shooting, deer hunting, playing the guitar, basketball and any type of card games in his spare time. When he was younger, Stephen played a variety of sports including soccer, baseball and basketball.
