BEIJING (AP) American Vincent Hancock was leading after the first day of men's skeet qualifications.
The 2005 world champion hit 73 targets on Friday, shooting a perfect score in the first round and missing one in each of the other two rounds.
France's Anthony Terras, Antonis Nikolaidis of Cyprus, Kuwait's Abdullah Alrashidi and Harald Jensen of Norway were tied for second with 72 targets.
If Alrashidi is able to keep up his performance in Saturday's two qualifying rounds and final it could be an exciting moment for Kuwait, which has just eight athletes in Beijing and one medal in Olympic history.
